Danse Macabre
“Emperor, your sword won’t help you out, Sceptre and crown are worthless here, I’ve taken you by the hand, For you must come to my dance” (Heidelberger Blockbuch, 1640). The Danse Macabre – also called totentanz – is a medieval allegory of death where both rich and poor must participate in a grim dance with death when their life runs out. Memento mori - death is universal.. The picture is composed of manipulated graffiti pictures taken in Barcelona this year.
